This Exciting All-Day Program Includes The following Presentations:

Von Schlieffen's Gamble - An Audience Interactive Panel Discussion: Panelists Jon Guttman - Editor of Aviation History and Military History magazine, Miliary Historian Dr. Karl Larew of Towson University, and German Studies expert Dr. Antulio Echevarria of the US Army War College will attempt to separate the myth from the reality of Imperial Germany's 1914 War Plan.

The First World War In German Picture Postcards: Long-time WFA member Randy Gaulke presents a fascinating and colorful selection of German wartime postcards produced for the benefit of the home front.

The Combat Art of Henry Farre: Aviation artist Luther Gore presents a slide show on the life and works of French WWI artist Henry Farre, the earliest wartime aviation artist.

Through the Wheat - The Marines at Belleau Wood: J. Michael Miller, Senior Archivist at the Marine Corps Research Archives, Quantico, presents a micro-history of the most famous US Marine action of World War I. In addition to covering the well-known aspects of the battle, Miller will introduce a number of lesser-known personalities from recent research.

**Book Discussion Session: East Coast Chapter member Andy Hyson will moderate a book discussion session on Ernst Junger's Storm of Steel. This session will be limited to ten persons - sign up at the registration table on a first come - first served basis.

WHEN: Saturday, November 13, 2004. Registration begins at 8:30 am with opening remarks at 9:30 am.

WHERE: The Maryland War Memorial Building. 101 N. Gay Street. Baltimore MD. See Directions and map below.

COST: $22.00 per person ($17.00 students), includes AM coffee break and door prize chance ticket.

PARKING: There is a parking garage on Marion Street Immediately across from the War Memorial Building's North Entrance.


LUNCH: Several Restaurants including McDonald's are Within Walking Distance


Directions:

    From the South: I-95 North to Baltimore. Take Exit 53, I-395 Downtown. As you proceed down the ramp, Oriole Park at Camden Yards will be on your left. Turn Right on Pratt Street toward the Inner Harbor. Turn Left at Gay Street and proceed approximately 3 blocks. The War Memorial Building will be on your right.

     From the North: Take I-95 South toward Baltimore. Proceed on I-695 West Toward Townson then South on 143 toward downtown Baltimore. At the end of the Expressway (Fayette Street) turn Right - the War Memorial Building will be just ahead on your Right.
