Special Opportunity
Attendees at the Hartford Seminar will be able to tour the exhibit Samuel Colt: Arms, Art and Invention. The exhibition contains arms of all sorts, as well as documents, photographs, paintings and busts, medallions and ceremonial gifts. Of particular interest are 1850s paintings by George Catlin, famed chronicler of American Indian life and customs. These paintings were commissioned by Colt for advertising and promotional purposes. Colt, of course, made his fortune manufacturing his revolvers. For more information on the exhibit, go to www.wadsworthatheneum.org.
