- 9:30 AM "From the Cult of the Offensive to Carnage in the Trenches: The Mistakes of the 1914 War Planners." James Thomas.
- James is a Professor of History, Northwest College, Houston (HCCS). He is a member of the WFA, Society for Military History, Western Conference of British Studies, and the Lee Enfield Rifle Association.
- 10:30 AM "Solidarity or Vassalage: Joint Planning Between the German and Austro-Hungarian Army." Michael Kihntopf.
- Michael is a history teacher and is author of Handcuffed to a Corpse: German Intervention in the Balkans and on the Galacian Front, 1914-1917 (pub. 2002). He is also the author of another book and numerous articles on the Great War.

- 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM Lunch and informal tour of the Museum.
- 1:00 PM "Shoot the Generals: Italy and the Italians on the Italian Front." Robert Fletcher.
- Robert will discuss the Italian front and the collapse of the Italian army in the Great War from the Italian perspective. He is a WFA member who lived, studied, and worked in Italy for 18 years of his 30 years in military and government service.

- 2:00 PM "Making WW I Visible to the Younger Generation by Films." Dr. Katherine Arens.
- Kate is a Professor in the Department of Germanic Studies at the University of Texas at Austin. She is the author of numerous publications and has been nominated for admission to the Academy of Distinguished Teachers.
- 3:00 PM "Recent Great Books on the Great War." Clark Shilling.
- Clark writes the book reviews for the web page of our WFA-USA Southwest Chapter. He has always had a keen interest in history, and is now teaching courses at Tulsa Community College. His areas of interest are European Imperialism, the American Frontier, and the Great War.
- 4:00 Closing Remarks and Drawings for Door Prizes
- 6:00 Optional no-host dinner at Pappasito's Cantina, 6513 North Interstate 35, Austin.
